Texas Holdem Rules
If poker newbie is your name, then Texas Holdem is your game. This is one of the easiest forms of poker to learn and the favorite of most players out there, especially with people just learning the game. Not only is the game easy to learn, but so are the Texas Holdem rules; especially when measured up against the rules in other forms of poker games.
There is not too much very difficult about the Texas Holdem rules, and the most trying part of learning these rules is getting the hand rankings under your belt so you can play without developing amnesia when the game play starts. For most players, remembering which hand ranks higher than which other one can be trial by fire when they are very new to the game and are sitting in on a real game with experienced players and trying to remember how to bet depending on what they are looking at in their hand.
It's not just a matter of learning which hand is higher than the other one, but rather which hand was going to yield good playing results with what you are starting out with and you have to decide on the spot if you are going to bid or not depending on that hand. Remembering all the possible combinations is the hard part and confusion soon reigns when a new player is stumbling through a game.
So let's put hand rankings aside for a moment, because there are other parts of the Texas Holdem rules that need to be learned too; things like the Big Blind and the Small Blind, the Dealer button, the Flop, the River, the Turn; and then the Texas Holdem rules that apply to betting, raising, calling and folding.
When you hear the sounds of all this, it makes you quiver in your boots and think it will be an impossibility to learn; but don't worry about all this; be assured that once you start matching heads with the other poker players, you will be pretty darn proficient in using all of these Texas Holdem rules.
Texas Holdem rules are really not that hard to master, and you will be surprised at how soon you will get the hang of them and how your poker playing has been enhanced by knowing all these rules. The biggest secret in all of this is practice, and once you have become proficient at playing poker, it will cross your mind every now and then that how silly it was to be so nerved up about learning the Texas Holdem rules, because now they are like second nature to you and you hardly give them a second thought in your play.
